I combined two passions of mine;
designing & Doc Martens shoes !
I had these shoes in white, they where a special valentines edition and came ONLY in white.
The minute i saw them i knew i wanted them, but i wanted them in black!
So i painted them with Angelus leatherpaint et voila, here is the result :

You mentioned Angelus leather paint in your post about the DM heart boots. Could you possibly tell me what type paint you used? Was it matte, semi-gloss, etc.? Thank you so much – for your inspiration, as well!

Hi,
I used the black from angelus, it is semi gloss

first i cleaned the leather with Acetone, after that i softly sanded the leather with fine sandpaper ( in that order otherwise you sand the grease into the leather!)
then again a gentle whipe with acetone and after that like 6 thin layers of paint.
(the thicker you paint every layer, the more change there is that afterwards the paint is gonna come of the lather, so keep that in mind!)
i dont know if you can read Dutch, but i have this Facebookgroep called dr. martens custom design and in there there is a extended tutorial about customising boots 😉
