Dr. Martens X Myrdin > Van Gogh’s Starry Night

My latest project:
Custom painted Dr. martens boots > Eleventh pair.

I combined two passions of mine;
painting/designing & Dr. Martens shoes !

It’s a long process to custom paint leather shoes.
Because one needs to keep in mind that the leather has to endure a lot when used.
So i used special leatherpaint after i thoroughly cleaned and sanded the leather.

This is the result of the eleventh pair of Doc Martens that i upcycled.
My challenge was; could i paint a pair of boots with the Starry Night theme of Vincent Van Gogh!

The ingrediënts :

Step One :
In Paintshop i placed the painting on the shoe.

Step Two :
I painted the leather in the color ‘old-canvas-ochre/beige’ as a sober background,
and with a thin black Posca i sketched the basic lines on the leather.
